REVIEWS: FOLK NORTHWEST 1991 " Jake Walton is one of those frustrating enigmas on the folk scene. We are rarely treated to a glimpse of this talented songwriter, guitarist and gurdy player. If we are lucky he can be seen once in a 'blue moon' solo appearance or on a Jake Walton / Jez Lowe tour . Recordings too are a rare sighting, but what there is available are a treat to have which only accounts for two solo albums (Sunlight and Shade) and one duo with Jez Lowe (Two A Roué). All fourteen tracks on this compilation CD are from these three LP's (The first three tracks are re-recordings) (Mike Billington)
